For any speech, there are four big directions a speaker can take:
-
to inform (or teach) the audience
-
to entertain the audience
-
to persuade the audience to take action
-
to inspire the audience to change their attitude
In this chapter, you’ll define two different things:
-
your goal — the big one, the outcome you ultimately want to achieve
-
your objective — the small one, the first step you want your audience to take
That objective is your call to action (CTA):
simple, specific, and symbolic — the beginning of change.
Because in rhetoric, there is only one true KPI: action.
Let’s define yours.
The workbook will guide you through every module, help you structure your thoughts, and turn insight into action.
